Raleigh Holmes : Vocals, Autoharp, Words, Knee Slapping.
Raleigh provides the vocal magic and leads us to all things rootsy and vintage thru her channeling of some past life. Need to know what was being served on any given day at the MGM commissary in 1932? What little English village did Olivier once stroll thru? Raleigh's your girl. She has no idea how good she really is. Please don't tell her.
Robert Holmes : Vocals, 12 String Guitar, Guitars, Ukulele.
We blame Robert for this...He suckered us in thinking it was for a single event, and now it’'s all this! He insists on playing a guitar that has more strings than everybody else’s, and attempting near Castrato level vocal parts. Beyond this and his songwriting, his true value in the band is during darkly lit ballads when we can barely see our instruments, we use the reflection off his silver hair to see better.
Buck Wilcox : Vocals, Guitar, Bass, Banjo, Mandolin.
The Melodymiester. Buck’'s tuneful songwriting and instant harmony work provide the spirit of the Furies. He was once a rock God. Now he'’s a Folk Monster. He whistles’ while he works, and we write it all down. While gifted, he has been known to ruin countless recording takes due to his spontaneous giggling at any hint of an obscure tidbit of rock history trivia, and so remains on double secret band probation.
Ian Francisco : Vocals, Upright Bass, Piano, Organ, Accordion, Melodica. The Trained One. Ian is known for his ability to play anything in any style at the drop of a hat. He keeps the rest of the Furies honest and helps channel our great high school musical director Uncle Lloyd. Also known as “Mr. Fix It”, Ian can tear apart and reconstruct anything, designing new and fascinating curse words in the process.
Steve Hilstein: Percussion and Drums
At age 10, one of Steve's very first experiences playing was in a band with Robert Holmes, playing Monkees and Creedence tunes at their first ever paid performance for a whopping $35. Since then his career as a drummer, recording artist, and record producer has carried him back full circle to The Scarlet Furies again with Robert. He is the founder of The Drum Circuit drum shop and director of Drum School 101 in San Luis Obispo, CA. A graduate of P.I.T. (Percussion Institute Of Technology) Steve has played in bands since he could hold a pair of drum sticks, which back then were usually large bones or sticks of wood around the fire or on cave walls..
